2021 RAM 1500 – By choosing the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine, you will be able to pull up to 5,697 kg (12,560 lb). The 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine will allow you to tow up to 3,506 kg, namely 7,730 lb. As for the 5.7-litre HEMI V8, it can pull you out of trouble by towing up to 5,783 kg, or 12,750 lb.

2021 RAM 2500 – Only 2 engines provide the power that the RAM 2500 needs to tow heavy loads. One is the high-output 6.7-litre Cummins Turbo Diesel 6-cylinder engine, which can tow up to 8,927 kg or 19,680 lb, and the other is the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine that can easily tow up to 7,956 kg or 17,540 lb.

RAM 1500 vs. 2500: Engine Power

2021 RAM 2500 – As mentioned earlier, only two engines power the RAM 2500 trucks, one is the high-output 6.7-litre, Cummins Turbo Diesel 6-cylinder engine, generating 400 horsepower and a phenomenal 1,000 lb-ft of torque, which will allow you to tow up to 8,927 kg (19,680 lb), and the other is the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Depending on the engine, two transmissions are available, either one with 6 speeds or another with 8 speeds.

The 2021 RAM 1500 offers 3 engines, including the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6, offering an output of 260 horsepower for a torque of 480 lb-ft. The 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine develops 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, while the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine produces 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. They all come with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
