Stellantis’ dedication to electric vehicle models is well under way and Jeep vehicles are no stranger to this trend. Although the arrival of a very first fully electric model is set for 2024 −with either the Jeep Recon or the Wagoneer S-, plug-in hybrid models with spectacular performance are currently attracting buyers’ attention, who are looking for a vehicle that offers both solid capabilities and remarkable energy efficiency.
Duclos Laval Jeep takes you on a tour, looking at current and future electric and plug-in hybrid Jeep models in greater detail, which you will find in a near future in dealership. Be among the first to become an electric Jeep vehicle owner!
Jeep Recon: What we Know

Inspired by the legendary Jeep Wrangler, the Jeep Recon is a fully electric SUV that will provide you with the same sturdy build and off-road capabilities as its iconic older brother, which has been at the forefront of its segment for several decades already. With this brand-new SUV, Jeep will be consolidating its position as a leader for all-terrain vehicles, by proving that a fully electric SUV can be just as skilled as a utility with a fuel engine, even in the most grueling conditions.
Although available information is still quite limited, we do know that it will offer a remarkable electric range, which could very well reach 800 kilometers, depending on the platform on which it will be built. Power could vary between 400 and 600 horsepower, depending on model, although nothing has officially been revealed by the manufacturer to date.
The perfect stylistic blend between the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler, the Jeep Recon offers loads of outstanding features, like a removable roof and doors, among other things. Moreover, the rare images revealed until now show the iconic 7- slot grille with an illuminated contour −just like for the headlights-, along with 2 blue towing hooks at the front. There are also extra towing hooks at the back as well.
A much-awaited model on the market, there is no doubt that the very first copies arriving in dealership will sell like hotcakes and fly right off the shelves. Will you be among the first buyers?
More detailed official information regarding the all-new Jeep Recon will be revealed soon; stay tuned!
Wagoneer S

When it comes to the Wagoneer S, it will be the all-new −and very first- 100 % electric version of the luxurious Wagoneer. It will be commercialized south of our border in 2024 and is due to arrive on the Canadian market either simultaneously, or shortly after.
Some sources mention an electric range close to 600 kilometers, although nothing has yet been confirmed by Stellantis. These numbers will be made available during the production model’s official reveal, which should be very soon.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe

A plug-in hybrid trim of the popular Wrangler, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has nothing to envy from the heat engine model when it comes to off-road capabilities!
It is available in 6- trims, offered at the following MSRP:
Version | MRSP |
---|---|
Sport S | $ 60,211 |
Willys | $ 65,211 |
Sahara | $ 68,686 |
Rubicon | $ 76,160 |
High Altitude | $ 84,965 |
Rubicon X | $ 85,655 |
There are very few differences in terms of design between the plug-in hybrid trims and the fuel engine trims. You will find the emblematic rounded headlights and the 7- slot grille, the removable doors and roof, along with the rugged and square lines that make the Wrangler instantly recognizable among many.
All trims of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe offer the same plug-in hybrid powertrain: a 2.0 L 4- cylinder engine coupled with 2- electric motors and a battery. This powertrain provides the 2024 Wrangler 4xe with a remarkable 375 net horsepower and 470 lb-ft. maximum torque.
Moreover, you will be able to drive up to 35 kilometers when in 100 % electric mode; when it comes to total range, it can reach up to 592 kilometers. You will also be taking advantage of a plug-in hybrid SUV with a remarkable combined energy efficiency of 4,8 Le/100 km.
When it comes to the Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s maximum towing capacity, it is identical to the 4- door trims of the Wrangler, which means 3,500 pounds (1,588 kg); you will also have access to a generous amount of cargo space, that varies between 764 and 1,897 liters, depending on if rear seats are up or down.
Finally, the Wrangler 4xe is equipped with the 4×4 Rock-Trac system, on top of being the very first plug-in hybrid vehicle in the industry to be equipped with front and rear locking differentials, without forgetting the fording depth that varies between 76 and 80 centimeters, depending on the selected trim and the tires with which the SUV is equipped.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe is “living” proof that it is possible to combine elegance, a rugged build and a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the same vehicle! We are willing to bet that this electric trim will be remarkably successful with buyers looking for a skilled and capable SUV that is also energy efficient, without sacrificing on comfort.
Offered in numerous trims, the 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe comes at the following base prices:
- Entry-Level: $ 75,965
- Trailhawk: $ 80,565
- Anniversary Edition: $ 80,960
- Overland: $ 84,465
- Summit: $ 92,060
- Summit Reserve: $ 94,460
Moreover, it offers the same high-end features as the fuel trim of the Grand Cherokee and that buyers have come to know and love: a luxurious and spacious interior, loads of cutting-edge technologies and, of course, a high-performance powertrain.
In this instance, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe offers a 2.0 L 4- cylinder turbo engine coupled with an electric powertrain, for a total of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. maximum torque, along with a combined energy efficiency of only 4.2 Le/100 km.
Furthermore, this plug-in hybrid Jeep SUV will provide you with an electric range of 42 kilometers (when relying on the electric motor alone) and a generous total hybrid range of 761 kilometers.
When it comes to the towing capacity, it reaches up to 6,000 pounds, which is similar to what the fuel trims of the Grand Cherokee equipped with a V6 engine offer (6,200 pounds).
Takeaway
Fully electric Jeep models will become more numerous and diversified over the course of the next few years, with the addition of new models or even electric trims on already existing vehicles.
