If we say 392, does that ring a bell? That number refers to the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque found under the hood of the Dodge Challenger SRT 392. Well, this famous engine could well find itself under the hood of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler. As if its exceptional off-road capabilities weren’t enough, it seems that the manufacturer wants to make a performance beast out of its Jeep SUV. Honestly, who’s going to complain?
Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, you have to admit that such an engine would be downright jubilant. Aside from this truly seductive prospect, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler, which is priced from just over $34,000 to slightly more than $55,000, remains one of the best mid-size SUVs for off-road enthusiasts, with a legendary reputation and renown. Existing engines include the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 with 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Turbo with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, and the all-new 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission are available depending on your version.
