The 2027 RAM 1500 broadens its lineup significantly with the arrival, or rather, the return, of the legendary Rumble Bee, alongside the return of the TRX SRT and new V8 options. The mainstream trims keep the Pentastar V6, twin-turbo Hurricane and 5.7L HEMI, while the performance models add the 6.4L HEMI V8 and the supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8. When properly equipped, maximum towing reaches 11,530 lb.
What’s new for the 2027 RAM 1500?
The headline addition for the 2027 RAM 1500 is the Rumble Bee, the return of a family of muscle trucks designed more for on-road performance than for off-road trails. Four trims are announced: the Rumble Bee, Rumble Bee 392, Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack and Rumble Bee SRT. They all use a Quad Cab layout with a short cargo bed and a wider body.
The TRX also returns in 2027, this time wearing the SRT badge for the very first time and a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 rated at 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft. Practical changes include a standard 360-degree camera on the Limited, Limited Longhorn and RHO, a 2-kW onboard power supply available with Pentastar eTorque, and new colour options.
Above all, the 2027 RAM 1500 lets you tailor the truck very precisely to how you will use it rather than simply picking between an entry trim and a top trim.
2027 RAM 1500: engines and capability
The regular lineup retains four familiar powertrains, joined by engines reserved for the new performance models. All are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque
The Pentastar produces 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft. For 2027, its published maximums reach 8,100 lb. of towing and 2,340 lb. of payload when properly equipped.
That payload figure makes it a compelling choice to carry tools or materials in the cargo bed. It can also be fitted with a 2-kW onboard power supply with two 120V outlets in the cargo bed.
3.0L twin-turbo Hurricane engines
The standard-output Hurricane delivers 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft and offers the highest towing capacity in the mainstream lineup at 11,530 lb. The high-output (HO) version develops 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft, with a maximum of 9,480 lb.
The most powerful engine is not automatically the best to pull a heavy trailer. The Hurricane HO leans more toward performance and powers the RHO and certain higher trims.
5.7L HEMI V8
The 5.7L HEMI produces 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft. With eTorque, RAM rates towing up to 11,370 lb. for 2027, while the new configuration without eTorque, fitted notably to the Rumble Bee, reaches up to 8,890 lb.

What about the engines of the 2026 RAM 1500?
The 2026 models remain a solid option and are still available at dealers. We are talking about the 3.6L Pentastar, 3.0L Hurricane SO and HO, as well as the 5.7L HEMI.
The main change is a broader lineup. The 2027 model year adds the 6.4L HEMI and the supercharged 6.2L HEMI to the performance models to expand the choices for buyers.
Which 2027 RAM 1500 trim should you choose?
For work, the Tradesman, Express and Big Horn remain the most conventional choices. The Laramie, Limited, Limited Longhorn and Tungsten put more emphasis on comfort and technology, while the Warlock, Rebel and RHO target different levels of off-road use.
Depending on the trim, the 2027 RAM 1500 can be fitted with a 14.5-inch Uconnect touch screen, a 10.25-inch passenger display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a Head-Up Display. The RHO keeps its 540-horsepower Hurricane HO for drivers who want a quick truck suited to off-road use.
The return of the TRX SRT
The TRX SRT returns with 777 horsepower, noticeably more than the previous TRX at 702 horsepower. It earns the SRT badge for the very first time. RAM quotes 0 to 96 km/h in 3.5 seconds, 35-inch tires, Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers and 11.8 inches of ground clearance.
Canadian MSRP is announced at $144,995, plus $2,995 in destination charges. It is expected to arrive at certain Canadian dealers in fall 2026.
The new 2027 RAM 1500 Rumble Bee
The Rumble Bee is a major addition because it creates a lineup of muscle trucks focused on on-road performance. The base model gets the 395-horsepower 5.7L HEMI, the 392 adopts, for the first time in a RAM 1500, a 470-horsepower 6.4L HEMI, while the Rumble Bee SRT reaches 777 horsepower with its supercharged V8, the same found on the TRX SRT.
The Rumble Bee SRT can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.4 seconds and cover the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds. The targeted top speed is 274 km/h. The Rumble Bee 5.7L is expected from late 2026, while the 392 and SRT trims will follow during the first half of 2027.

Choosing the 2027 RAM 1500 ultimately depends more on how you will use it than on the absolute output. A truck intended to carry tools every day, a family vehicle that tows a trailer a few weekends per year and an RHO driven off-road address three very different needs.
