The 2024 RAM 1500 electric, or 1500 REV –which is its official name- will certainly not be the first electric truck of its category; however, it does promise a real revolution amongst trucks of its class with the outstanding performance and skills it will offer, making it a leader in the electric truck category.

2024 RAM 1500: all you need to know!
For the moment, information about this RAM electric truck is still fragmented and scattered; but the manufacturer has made it clear that the RAM 1500 REV will be an outstanding truck, leaving its competitors in the dust.
We have already had the privilege of a sneak peek at the production model, thanks to an ad that was revealed during the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl LVII. At first glance, it is easy to see that this version is very close to the 1500 Revolution prototype, even with just a few images published back in 2022; this confirms that the 1500 REV boasts a spectacular design. And Stellantis has further confirmed that the commercialized version will also maintain a large part of these attributes.
For example, we quickly notice that the bold and unique headlight and radiator grille design has been kept, and so has the illuminated RAM emblem at the front. The wheels also seem to have the same style as on the concept, revealed this past January, at the latest CES. Moreover, the REV letters are also visible on the hood; and under it, you will have access to a storage space with power outlets.
You will also notice the presence of the practical RamBox storage systems located on each side of the bed; their loading capacity or payload have yet to be revealed. The rear-hinged doors also facilitate rear passengers’ entry and exit, although we still do not know if they will appear on the production model.
As for the interior, the RAM 1500 REV offers a spacious and comfortable interior where refined materials and evolved technologies meet, as we have come to expect from the manufacturer. A huge touch screen in a vertical position will give you access to different features, including amenities and added technologies.
2024 RAM 1500 vs 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning: comparing both models
There remains loads of information to be revealed about the RAM electric truck, which makes a comparison between the 2024 RAM 1500 vs 2023 Ford F-150 a little difficult. However, the future looks bright for this Stellantis model, with performance levels that should be shaking things up with the competition.
As for the price, the 2023 F-150 Lightning comes in 3 trims, with base prices that vary between $ 81,195 and $ 123,195. Although we still do not know how many trims to expect for the RAM 1500 REV or their base prices, we can expect the price range to be similar, although first estimates seem to indicate that these prices might be closer to those of the Chevrolet Silverado base trims that play around $ 50,000 (and over $ 120,000 for the high-end trims).
The same thing can be said about power, which also has yet to be revealed. However, we can expect a performant powertrain, along with a promising towing capacity. Moreover, Stellantis did confirm a few months ago that its electric pickup would surpass its rivals on many levels. To give you an idea, the power offered by the 2023 F-150 Lightning is 580 horsepower, and the Silverado offers over 660 horsepower. Some sources even say that the RAM 1500 REV could offer close to 900 horsepower, although that information has yet to be confirmed.
We are also told to expect an electric range that could reach up to 800 kilometers for the 2024 RAM 1500 REV, which is significantly higher than what is offered by the F-150 Lightning. Same thing for the towing capacity: although it has yet to be revealed, we can presume that it will be similar –if not superior- to those offered by the fuel versions of the RAM 1500. As a reminder, this maximum towing capacity presently reaches 12,750 pounds.
What are the differences between these two vehicles?
As we have mentioned, it is challenging to present a true comparison between the 2024 RAM 1500 vs 2023 Ford F-150 when we do not have the right data. However, some of the information we do have access to serves to show that the RAM truck provides us with outstanding features that its rival does not.

The last point doesn’t take anything away from the RAM 1500 REV being a true electric vehicle; in fact, this small engine will serve solely as a generator and to charge the battery only (it won’t be making the wheels turn).
